Porque es importante el maíz
Maíz alimento mesoamericano
Nuestros ancestros lo veneraban por ser una importante semilla, desde que Quezatcóalt lo proporciono para alimentar a la población; transformado en una hormiga negra y acompañado de una hormiga roja se marcho a las montañas lugar donde se encontraba el maíz escondido; Quetzacóalt tomo un grano maduro entre sus mandíbulas y emprendió el regreso; les entrego el prometido grano a los indígenas que padecían hambre. Los aztecas plantaron la semilla y así obtuvieron el maíz que desde entonces sembraron y cosecharon; este grano aumentó sus riquezas, se volvieron más fuertes, construyeron palacios y templos.
Se puede considerar una herencia alimentaria, hoy en día forma parte importante en la dieta con exquisitos platillos y alto valor nutricional, teniendo 60 variedades de Maíz criollo y cerca de 2000 variedades adaptadas, México es el centro de Origen del Maíz, sin embargo se ve amenazado por la siembra de Organismos genéticamente modificados esto representa un control de la producción de alimentos por parte de corporaciones biotecnológicas, lo cual supone una amenaza de contaminación irreversible.
Organizaciones no gubernamentales y la sociedad civil han emprendido la defensa del maíz con el título “SIN MAÍZ NO HAY PAÍS”, junto con la campaña mesoamericana Vamos al Grano, estos grupos propusieron celebrar el día nacional del maíz estableciéndolo el 29 de septiembre, con diversas actividades en los estados; en la capital inicio con un muro humano frente a Palacio Nacional formado por 44 personas las cuales formaron la frase “Maiz y Libertad”, mas tarde una tamaliza y un fandango popular motivaron la celebración.

Virtually all of what you say happens to be supprisingly appropriate and that makes me wonder the reason why I had not looked at this in this light before. This particular article truly did switch the light on for me personally as far as this particular subject matter goes. But at this time there is 1 point I am not really too cozy with so while I try to reconcile that with the core idea of your position, permit me see what all the rest of your subscribers have to say.Well done.
