1.-La iluminación
Usar focos fluorescentes (ahorradores) o mejor aún lámparas leds para lugares donde no necesites mucha iluminación, aunque no necesariamente por que ya se están comercializando lámparas leds de alta iluminación para interiores que te harán ahorrar mucho más energía aunque pueden llegar a ser un poco caras vale la pena la inversión, de todas maneras es necesario que por lo menos cambies tus focos incandescentes por ahorradores ya que con solo este cambio puedes ahorrar hasta un 80% de la energía que consumen los focos incandescentes.
2.-Los aparatos y sistemas eléctricos
Desconectar todos los aparatos mientras nos los uses, ya que todos ellos siguen consumiendo energía cuando se encuentran en el modo Stand By por lo que tienes que desconectarlos cuando no los uses, televisores, reproductores DVD, Blue-ray, microondas, computadoras, teatros en casa, etc.
También debes de asegurarte de apagar todos los focos que no estén en uso, ya que muchas veces dejamos prendidos algunos focos en algunas partes de la casa en donde no se encuentra nadie, con esto ahorras mucho, si te es posible puedes colocar sensores de presencia para que lo focos solo se enciendan el tiempo necesario (además de darle un toque de modernidad a tu hogar).
Usa una computadora portátil en vez de una de escritorio ya que estas están diseñadas para consumir poca energía por lo que si piensas comprarte una nueva, elige una portátil.
3.-El refrigerador
Ubicar el refrigerador lejos de alguna fuente de calor, como sabrás la mayoría de los refrigeradores solo hacen uso de energía eléctrica cuando necesitan bajar la temperatura para mantener siempre su interior frio para esto activan una bomba que licua un gas que absorbe el calor del interior por medio de un fenómeno físico, al absorber el calor, el gas se vuelve gaseoso por lo que es necesario la intervención de la bomba nuevamente para licuarlo, esto sucede en un ciclo que solo se activa cuando la temperatura del interior del refrigerador comienza a subir, es por esto que se recomienda alejarlo de fuentes de calor como la estufa para que no se caliente por esta causa y haga gran uso de energía para mantenerse frio, también debes verificar que se cierre herméticamente y evita mantenerlo abierto el menos tiempo posible.
4.-Sobre la calefacción y el aire acondicionado.
El aire acondicionado y la calefacción son de las cosas que gastan mas energía eléctrica en una casa, por lo que es importante tratar de reducir, optimizar y si es posible eliminar su uso.
En primer lugar el aire acondicionado si vives en una zona templada no será necesario, bastara con un ventilador colocado en tu techo, así como impedir la entrada de la luz solar a tu hogar durante la temporada calurosa haciendo uso de persianas o cortinas, si te es posible puedes sembrar árboles o plantas grandes ya sean en el jardín o en macetas lo más cercano a las ventanas de tu hogar, si vives en una zona muy calurosa puedes aplicar los consejos anteriores y si es necesario puedes comprar un aire acondicionado por evaporación ya que son más eficientes además de consultar a un experto para que te aconseje de que capacidad comprarlo según las dimensiones de tu vivienda.
En cuanto a la calefacción de tu vivienda, tienes que aplicar lo contrario a los consejos anteriores, si vives en una zona calurosa lo más probables que no necesitaras calentar tu hogar, si vives en una zona templada puedes debes dejar entrar la luz solar a tu vivienda durante todo el día recogiendo cortinas y persianas, también debes de aislar tu casa tapando grietas, en el techo, paredes y suelo, si todavía no construyes tu casa pide asesoría para que se usen materiales aislantes y ecológicos en su construcción, esto ahorra grandes cantidades de energía ya que el uso del aire acondicionado o calefacción será mínimo, también puedes preguntar por equipos de calefacción y aire acondicionado solares con los cuales ahorrar el 100% en este punto.
5.-En el cuidado de la ropa
Al lavar la ropa en lavadora asegúrate de poner la máxima carga permitida, con esto reducirás los ciclos de lavado y ahorraras energía, seca la ropa colgada y no hagas uso de la secadora a menos que sea necesario.
En el planchando de la ropa, debes comenzar por la ropa que requiera menor calor a la que requiera mayor calor, con esto no se gasta energía innecesariamente, ya que la plancha se calentara progresivamente.
Plancha la mayor cantidad posible de ropa en cada ocasión, recuerda no dejar la plancha conectada innecesariamente.
Revise que el cable y la clavija estén en buenas condiciones, ya que se podrían sobrecalentar lo que perdiendo energía en forma de calor además de representar riesgo de un corto circuito.
